Job Description Roles: 'Senior C# Developer'
Job Location: Pune, (Candidates willing to relocate also can apply)
Main duties/responsibilities of the role:
The successful candidate will be heavily involved in the architectural design and development of our strategic .Net platform.
This is a complex undertaking as we are continuing to develop a global trade capture and decision support application, which must also integrate closely with the tools developed across Prime Services. There are a lot of challenges here: utilizing the technologies effectively, liaising with and understanding the business needs and working with and influencing the other IT teams whose input is required for the success of the project. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate and give input at all levels within the project.
On the technical side, the candidate should also have an excellent understanding of OO design concepts, and a practical and delivery oriented approach to application design. This should have been gained through experience with C# and the Windows environment, on complex multi-region development projects.
The candidate should also have some experience with Visual Basic 6. A small part of the project work will involve enhancing our VB6 reference data application.
Ideally, the successful candidate will also have had experience working in the Investment Banking arena. They should have a good background in equity and fixed income products and ideally good knowledge of the securities lending business in particular.
The role will involve a lot of interaction with the business and with other teams throughout the organization. The candidate should therefore be a skilled communicator of ideas, have good influencing skills and be able to translate often-imprecise business ideas into concrete deliverables.
The candidate will need excellent English language skills, as the majority of our colleagues are from English speaking nations.
Special Circumstances:
On call for escalation
The candidate will need to work closely with teams in Zurich and New York, therefore there may be requirement to occasionally work later in the evening to assist with communication.
Desired Profile Education and professional qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
4-6 years of industry experience in relevant technologies and business line.
Strong C#
OO Design concepts
MS Windows
SQL Server/Sybase Development
Experience in development of winform and webform database applications using c#.
Some of the project work will be using Visual Basic 6, so the candidate should have experience of this platform.
Very familiar with OO design concepts
Strong analytical skills: ability to understand and critique specifications, confident to push back on unclear requirements.
Project lifecycle experience: delivery on at least 2 large scale, highly complex projects.
Strong English Language skills. Team oriented.
Experience of database development including SQL, stored procedures. Preferably using Sybase or SQL 2000+
Familiar with relational database concepts including datamodelling, performance tuning.
Financial Markets knowledge
