The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), which is declared as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, was set up under Department of Space, Goverment of India, and offers undergraduates
B Tech programme in Avionics, Aerospace Engineering and five year integrated masters in Applied Sciences.

The unique institute is looking for bright and highly motivated faculty as Readers (on Contract Basis)

Age limit : 35 years for all posts as on 01.05.2009

Remuneration : Rs. 34,400/- per month (consolidated). Superior performers will be rewarded with performance based incentive admissible up to 15% at the end of each year of contract.
Duration : Two years, but extend able.

Note :
* Should possess first class in B.Sc/ BE/ B.Tech and M.Sc / M.E. / M. Tech
* Only Indian Nationals need apply. Indian Nationals staying abroad can also apply.
* In exceptional circumstances, telephonic interview may be arranged for candidates staying abroad.

Procedure to Apply :
Application form can be downloaded from IIST website www.iist.ac.in and submitted electronically to ao (at) iist.ac.in or by post to: Administrative Officer, IIST, ISRO P.O., Thiruvananthapuram 695022. Applications should be superscribed as “Application for the post of Reader on Contract, Post code -___________”. The post code should be prominently filled in the space provided in the Application form also.

Important Note: Those who have applied for the post of reader on contract basis against the earlier advertisement Advt No.IIST-2 Dated 21-01-2009 need not apply again.

Tentative Dates of Interview : 15-June-2009
Expected date of Joining on Appointment : 30-June-2009
