Designation: SQL Server Developer
Job Description: This position looks for individuals who have proficiency in creating and managing large-complex queries/stored procedures, triggers, functions in SQL Server environment and also be hands-on with the report writing software Crystal Reports XI or later. The incumbent is expected to liaise with the analysts in gathering requirements for database feeds to their models and with business analysts to create Crystal report designs based on the professional and accurate reports that they might deem necessary and/or urgent. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the database(s), creating crystal report designs, analyzing the data output and suggesting/implementing process improvement.
This candidate will be able to work alone to develop, implement, and fine-tune the model-feeds and crystal reports output. Reporting to the Application Administrator, the Database Developer will work with our Analytics & Advisory Team to support in-house developed application databases and models.
Desired Profile: Hands on in Performance Tuning, Hands on in Index creation and maintenance in SQL Server
Technically fluent in database programming languages, including SQL and PL/SQL. Write SQL scripts that create or modify database objects. (i.e. tables, triggers, stored procedures, Functions and views, Reports).
Strong Database Concepts, esp Joins, keys, cursors
Work with analysts, end users & management to gather requirements for reports & data analysis. Should have the ability to use the Crystal Reports functionalities like Formulas, Parameters, Select Expert, Section Expert, SQL Expressions etc to create the report designs which will be further integrated into the application.
Work with Programmer Analysts and Business Analysts to gather requirements and implement changes to the databases as required
Take ownership of identification and implementation of performance and maintenance improvements for the current database design and application interactions
Constantly seeking ways to re-factor code by tuning and optimizing queries
Should have also worked in a programming environment like VBA, VB, Core Java etc.
