Designation : Software Engineer : Solver Development

Job Description :

1. Ability to understand and implement latest finite element and numerical algorithms
2. Be able to develop new functionalities and extend/enhance existing ones in :
• Element Development
• Material Modeling
• Contact and Friction
• Solution Algorithms
• Solvers (Direct sparse and Iterative)
Areas of interest include (but not limited to): Structural, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Electrical/Electromagnetics, Acoustics, and Coupled Physics
3. Identify and fix bugs
4. High level support to application engineers
5. Be able to write documentation/reports and make good presentations

PROFILE
A Research & Development position that involves enhancing core linear and non-linear finite-element solver capabilities

Desired Profile :

EDUCATION
M.S. / Ph.D in Mechanical, Applied Mechanics, Civil or Aerospace Engineering.

EXPERIENCE
• Good engineering skills with 3+ years in mechanics/mathematics.
• Strong exposure to current trends in computational mechanics and ability to implement linear and non-linear implicit finite element algorithms
• 2+ years of experience in writing finite element programs using FORTRAN / C.

DESIRED SKILLS
• Ability to use commercial finite element packages for linear and non-linear analysis. Experience using Nastran / Adams / Marc and Patran / SimX preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
• Result-oriented, extremely motivated and a team player
