Designation : Hp Openview Engineers
Job Description : HP Services provides IT Oursourcing services directly to customers taking on operations and management role for customer networks,systems applications. A key enabler of these services is establishment and maintainance of highly available service delivery infrastructure (system and monitoring tools and processes). The resource will be part of the support teams to provide the required OpenView expertise.
Primarily provide technical support for the OpenView products.
Additionally assist other infrastructure support team members to provide systems and application monitoring.
Works cross-organisationally with members of the OSC's, Service Desks, and field support teams across regions, to maximise customer satisfaction.
Prioritises and escalates activity as appropriate.
Works to generate reports that drive product improvement and customer satisfaction.
Conceptualise, create support documents, technical papers, service notes, training documentation and training when appropriate.
Provide on-call/call-out on a rota bases.
Conducts business in a professional manner while exceeding the HP standards for ethics and customer relations.
Desired Profile : Technological expertise in the following areas:
Experience deploying and integrating HP OpenView suite of products such as NNM, OVO-U (preferred), Service Desk, OV Performance Insight. Knowledge of OVIS, Probe builder, OVPA and OVPM is desirable.
Operating Systems - Exposure and Hands-on skills in using Windows and UNIX flavors (HPUX, Solaris, etc.)
Strong perl/shell scripting skills - mandatory
Networking concepts - Good in Networking concepts
Database knowledge - general SQL/Oracle skills Software Lifecycle process familiarity
Strong analytical and diagnosing skills coupled with a demonstrated ability to utilise those skills to identify, advise, and solve complex application and OS environments.
At least 3-4 years hands-on demonstrated experience with NT and Unix.
Advanced understanding of network methodologies.
Good working knowledge of network interconnect devices (routers, hubs, bridges, etc.).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, working effectively in an international, highly dynamic and interrupt-driven environment.
Excellent teamwork and organisational skills coupled with a willingness to take ownership for customer satisfaction and team contribution.
Must be able to travel Internationally with no restrictions. Should be flexible to come in shifts.
Fluent command of English.
