Description
This technical resource is part of the System Integration and Testing team who are directly responsible for testing the products and solutions produced by the development group to ensure that the quality goal and planned functionality is achieved. This involves obtaining an understanding of the
customer requirements, system architecture, design implementation details of software products and new features, and developing test cases based on this understanding.
This role offers a continuous learning environment where each assignment presents the opportunity to further extend the individuals knowledge, skillset and career advancement. Requirements
· Work as a part of System Integration and Testing team to ensure that the system meets customer/product requirements.
· Review the requirements and design (implementation) of the Products/Solutions and facilitate in feasibility evaluation.
· Define and create test strategies for the telecom products.
· Develop test plans and test cases for upcoming features based on functional specifications and high level design.
· Understand system architecture in order to effectively test the product from a system (and customer) perspective.
· Maintain a complete understanding of the testing infrastructure.
· Determine how the production infrastructure relates to the test environments and ensure that the test environment supports and simulates production infrastructure on a small scale.
· Design and develop plan to set up and configure test environment.
· Develop, enhance and maintain product test automation packages.
· Find issues early in the test cycle and report/track it through problem tracking system.
Desired Candidate Profile :
Qualifications
Knowledge of general QA and software testing procedures and methodologies, and software development lifecycle fundamentals.
Degree in computer science, engineering.
Software development experience will be an asset.
Technology/Tools:
· Working knowledge of large Data mediation systems
· Working knowledge Oracle 10 RDBMS and tools (Stored Procedure, Reports and Tuning tools)
· Working knowledge of shell scripting (Perl, ksh, etc)
· Working knowledge of QTP (preferred) or other test automation tools
· Proficient in Unix
· Detail oriented, good analytical and problem solving skills.
· Previous software development experienced would be a definite asset
· Excellent communication skills, detailed oriented
