Job Description :

Hands on C/C++, network and multi-thread development experience in various flavors of UNIX. Proficient in gdb/dbx. Job requires development and support of software deployed at 25Million+ user base global mobile carrier.

Candidate would be charged with developing customized mission-critical backend server systems that enable mobile operators provide various VAS services. The role also requires maintenance and support of messaging software deployed at a global mobile carrier servicing 25 million plus users. Candidate should have excellent skill in troubleshooting problems based on reported symptoms, log files, core debugging and actual code reading. Ideal candidate should be highly motivated and should be able to work with minimal directions. The candidate should also mentor his juniors or new hires. The candidate would be exposed to the ultimate in large scale fault tolerant distributed application development and what it takes to engineer and support 25M+ mailbox system.

Candidate would also work on the design and development of new custom modules/applications based on the mobile carrier business case requirement. The candidate should be able to communicate and resolve any issues effectively with the remote clients bridge team about the functional specifications, feature details etc. Drafting of the detailed functional specs, design specs and supporting QA persons in reviewing test plans is required.

Occasional travel to Japan may be required.

Desired Profile :

* Excellent understanding of C/C++ fundamentals and object oriented programming.
* UNIX development experience in sockets, multi-thread applications, IPC, synchronization.
* Experience in using gdb/dbx for debugging and issue analysis.
* Very strong understanding of the open Internet protocols such as SMTP/POP/IMAP/LDAP etc.
* Knowledgeable about XMLRPC and other remote procedure methods (RPC/SOAP).
* AJAX skills
* Knowledge of Japanese is a big plus.
* scripting (bash/csh/Perl/php etc).
* Development experience with SQL. (using one or more of common DB clients e.g. Oracle/DB2/etc)
* Experience on WIN32/64/.NET is optional
