Job Description :
The ideal candidate will:
Do the environment management for the systems, viz. application patching, writing utility scripts etc.
Manage the database functions related to the application viz. database refreshes, query tuning, etc.
Do the regression testing of the systems involved after bug fixes, enhancements.
Sometimes analyse Java code to understand the functioning of application and locate errors. So, he should have a sufficient understanding of Java code.
Provide technical support to applications hosted on UNIX systems.

Desired Candidate Profile :
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
UNIX and NT support experience including Environment management functions
Good knowledge of Unix and Perl scripting
Good working knowledge of relational databases Oracle
Basic knowledge of Java
2+ years of supporting business critical and time critical applications (preferably in an investment banking environment)
Good knowledge of messaging (MQ Series/JMS)
Knowledge of web-servers - configuration and working, preferably Jboss.
Ability to communicate effectively
