Job Description :
Tasks & Responsibilities

1. The role of Software Engineer - Systems involves designing, implementing and managing the Internet Servers.

2. Primarily responsible for managing and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of Mail Servers.
3. Additionally will be responsible for ensuring performance guarantees, backups and security.
4. Scripting, programming and administrative duties will be involved as and when required.
5. Will also be required to provide second-line support directly to customers and advise the front-line support team as required.

Skill Sets - Primary

1. Excellent knowledge of high capacity mail server administration using POP3, SMTP, and IMAP.
2. Good knowledge of installing and managing Linux / Unix / Solaris flavors.
3. Server administration knowledge of DNS and database systems (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MS-SQL).
4. Familiarity with Bourne Shell, Perl, PhP, Awk.

Skill Sets - Secondary
1. Understanding of Networking.
2. Familiarity with Windows Servers (desirable, but not mandatory).
3. Network security experience (IP Chains, VPN, Firewall, DDoS attacks, etc).

Personal Attributes
1. High level of maturity and responsibility required for managing mission critical servers.
2. Excellent communication skills.
3. Must have ability to help users via phone.
4. Good problem solving skills.
5. Flexible schedule to meet demands of an operational business.

Qualifications :
Candidate must be Graduate in any field, preferably with technical background (Graduate / Graduate Equivalent Diploma in software / hardware).

Experience :
1. At least two years experience in similar position.
2. Freshers with exceptional skills will also be considered.
