Designation : Application Support Engineer

Experience : 2 - 6 Years
Education : UG - Any Graduate - Any Specialization, PG - Post Graduation Not Required
Location : Bengaluru/Bangalore

Job Description :

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Monitor production systems (application functionality, infrastructure health check).
Analyze and respond to automated system alerts.
Analyze and resolve production tickets opened by external clients and internal system support teams.
Deploy new code releases and perform application checkout.
Make recommendations for improving monitoring, automation alerts, deployment processes, technical documentation. Develop technical documentation and Knowledgebase articles when required.
Develop scripts (Shell and Perl) to improve processing and monitoring when required.
Leverage monitoring and reporting tools to improve productivity (i.e Cordiant, Site scope, HPS Open view, OVO monitoring). Provide status (verbal and written) to management and appropriate support teams when critical issues arise.

The majority of job responsibilities are focused on production support, but there is some script development (20%).
Job responsibilities will from time to time require work during off hours and on the weekends.

Desired Profile :

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required.

Required Skills :
Working system admin knowledge of Unix (Linux & Solaris) and Windows 2003 operating systems.
Working knowledge of some scripting language (Shell, Perl, Python).
Working knowledge of SQL language.
General knowledge of XML language.
Good analytical skills (root cause analysis and create solutions to resolve incidents).
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Have a strong desire to identify ways for improving processes and documentation.
Ability to work in a challenging environment to meet product schedules and deadlines.
Experience working in real time market data environments.

Desired Skills :
Understanding of HTTP, Get, Post, return codes, proxies.
Experience with Windows service configurations.
Working knowledge of networking in particular F5 load balancer, 3DNS & BigIP appliances.
